Mumyoiyaki + Local Cuisine = Memorable Meal
From fall to winter, Sado's inn awaits you with three seasonal treats this season. Here we introduce four inns out of the 22 that are participating in this event.

Celebrate Seafood Hotpot with Sado Country Hot Pot Festival
From October 3rd to December 28th, monthly menu of seafood hot pot is available. November's hot pot is Aori Squid Shabu Shabu, featuring aori squid at the height of its season, a Sado specialty. Enjoy Sado's Okijiru, a Sado version of fisherman's stew in December. Foodies should plan their trip according to the menu!
During the event, Sado specialty igoneri featuring Sado's specialty seaweed called egogusa will be served at either breakfast or dinner. This dish is available throughout Niigata Prefecture, but the Sado version is called maki ego (rolled ego) where the thinly stretched seaweed is rolled up and sliced into thin strips. In other parts of Niigata, they are called kaku ego (square ego.)

Ultimate Sado Style: Certified Toki Rice in Mumyoiyaki
At the participating 22 inns, certified Toki Rice "Toki-to Kurasu Sato" produced by using a farming method that is easy on nature and on toki's habitat, such as reducing the amount of pesticides and chemical fertilizer, is served. Enjoy the special rice with a rich texture, and a sweetness that seems to increase with every bite.
Sado's own Mumyoiyaki ceramic ware is used to serve these local delicacies. The four inns share their special ways with us.
