Regions

Regions As an island, Sado is larger than you would expect. First-time visitors are usually surprised by its size. It is also because of its size that different climates and cultures can co-exist on a single island. Here we divide the island into three areas to introduce the distinctive features of each one.

Osado (North)

Osado (North)

This area, in the north of Sado, is a place with rugged, "masculine" scenery. We have divided it into six areas which we introduce in turn.

Osado (North)

Kosado (South)

Kosado (South)

This area, in the south of the island, is characterized by a southern climate and a flourishing tradition of local public entertainment. Here too, we have divided the district into six areas in order to describe it.

Kosado (South)

Kuninaka (Central)

Kuninaka (Central)

This is the plain in the center of Sado famous for being the island's only grain-producing region. Again we have divided the district into six areas in order to describe it.
