Sado Bugyosho

When the Sado gold mine was opened in 1601 Sado came under direct Shogunate control and a magistrate's office was set up in Aikawa. It was burned down many times and the one you see today is a restoration based on the office built in 1858 during the early modern period. Part of it is open to the public for an entrance fee of 500 yen per adult.
