Sado Gold Mine

The Soudayu Pit (a nationally-designated historical site) where gold was mined during the Edo period is open to the public. There are also guided tours of many industrial assets that contributed to the modernization of Japan including the number one ore floatation location in Asia and Japan’s first Western-style vertical pit.
