Boarding procedure
Exchange your reservation ticket (boarding coupon) for a boarding ticket at the counter and make your way to the ticket barrier with the ticket which must have the same name on it as the name on the passenger list. You are advised to arrive at the port early to allow ample time to complete boarding procedures.
If you are crossing with your car, present your reservation coupon at the vehicle transportation counter and present your shakensho (vehicle inspection certificate) along with a duly completed "vehicle transport application slip" (do not forget to note the names of other passengers) in order to receive a boarding ticket in exchange. If you have not completed boarding procedure 30 minutes before the ferry sails, loading considerations mean that you may not be able to board. Please arrive at the port with at least one hour to spare.
