Kabuse-no-yu (Kabuse Hotsprings) Aikawa Yamaki

A perfect place to watch the sunset with a view of the ocean from every room. Watch the many faces of Japan Sea: rough and wild in the winter, but calm and gentle in spring and summer.

Conveniently located about 7 minutes by foot from the downtown area of Aikawa, the hotel is famous for its hot springs. The staff at the front desk is fluent in English, making check-in a breeze. The staff can also help you plan your vacation on Sado if you email ahead. If you choose one of the rooms equipped with a bath, you can watch the sunset as you soak your stress away in your private tub. The name of the area Kabuse comes from the fact that this is where Nagayasu Okubo (1545 - 1613), a close adviser to the first Shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate Ieyasu Tokugawa (1543 - 1616), buried the deer that he brought to Sado. The hotel sits on historical grounds. Credit cards accepted.
