Get More Out of Sado than Just EC!
Summer in Sado is showcased by Earth Celebration (EC). It's a three-day festival that features artists from around the world as well as Kodo, the world renowned taiko performance group based in Ogi, a town in southern Sado. Shiroyama Concerts begin at sundown with a different concert everyday. Come and see all three concerts!

Shiroyama is situated on a hill upon the headland overlooking Ogi harbor. At dusk, Kodo pounds the traditional drums, exultant and grateful for the life that Earth has given us. The joyous sound of celebration echoes through the trees of Shiroyama. The moon and the stars hear the beat as it reaches the sky.
Why is EC so important to Kodo, who has the world as its stage? And why do people from around the world come to Sado for EC? It is because on Sado there exists a kind of sound that is only heard in nature. And because this is our home, where we are nurtured both by Sado's wildness and by its traditional arts and culture. It is also because Sado is the birthplace of Kodo's artistic expression.
From Your Country to Sado
You can fly directly into Niigata International Airport from Russia, China, Korea, and Guam. Daily flights are available from Incheon International Airport, with the quickest route being via Seoul to Niigata Airport. Regular shuttle bus service is available from Niigata International Airport to JR Niigata Station. From the JR station, take another bus from the No. 5 bus stop. It will take you to Sado Kisen (Sado Ferry) Terminal.
