Kamo Shrine Evening Noh Theatre

Noh Theatre at the historic Noh stage of Kamo Shrine

The Noh stage at Kamo Shrine is the only one still in existence in the former Hatano Town area. It is one of four Noh stages in the Kuninaka area where Noh performances were regularly held. At this event, "Ichiyokai," a local Noh theatre club in Hatano, presents an evening of Noh. In addition to a Noh play, maihayashi (a combination of Noh highlights accompanied by music and jiuta songs) and iccho ikkan (a performance using a flute and a tsuzumi Japanese hand drum) are performed to demonstrate the efforts of daily practice.
