Akadomari Tourist Centre
Located in one corner of Minato Park, Akadomari Tourist Centre is a government-run facility used for training sessions, and exhibitions. It is closely located to Sado Kisen's Ferry Terminal, where the high-speed passenger boat "Aibisu" departs and arrives, and the on-site restaurant is popular. Among the menu items, including set menus, rice bowls and ramen Chinese noodles, the highlight is the original and seasonal red snow crab all-you-can-eat (available from October-April). Come and enjoy fresh crabs, landed right at the port, to your heart's satisfaction.

Café de Cattleya
Founded in 1958, Café de Cattleya is a coffee shop with stained glass lights, a single flower dressing the tables, and quiet background music evoking the retro feel of the Showa times (1926-1989). It offers a choice of about thirty coffees, all of which are made with scrupulously selected coffee beans, including special blends, local brands, and Irish coffee. Cakes such as apple pies are also popular to eat along with the coffee. It also provides an ample selection of tea and juice.

Chargrilled Skewers Enman
The Enman restaurant specialises in chargrilled skewers, expressing their passion and determination towards handmade dishes. Using the brand-name chicken "Koshi no Tori" sourced from Niigata, the chef threads the chicken onto skewers one by one. Grilled at a high temperature over charcoal, the skewers are flavourful and taste excellent even when cold, making them a popular takeaway meal. Their Chinese ramen noodles are served with housemade chicken bone broth. Enman also serves à la carte dishes and chef's choice menus.

Chinese Cuisine Kinkaro
Kinkaro stands along Route 350, which you will know by its red signboard. The chef of the second generation learnt culinary skills at a famous Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Niigata, and wholeheartedly prepares dishes. The Sichuan-style Hot and Spicy Bean Curd, which carries on a traditional taste, gives rich flavours in spiciness, and this dish is highly recommended. Classic menus such as gyoza dumplings, fried rice, and sweet and sour pork are peerlessly delicious. Kinkaro also serves up noodles and set meals, and the set lunch on weekdays has a loyal following thanks to the reasonable price.

Chobokuri
In Hamochi, "Osaki Soba no Kai" takes place several times a year, where you can enjoy local specialty dishes and hand-kneaded soba (buckwheat noodles), as well as traditional performing arts, attracting many fans throughout Japan. Chobokuri was opened in 2007 by the organising group of Osaki Soba no Kai. Here you can have a simple, but delightful treat of soba noodles made from 100% stone-ground buckwheat all year round. Seeking soba noodles soaked in flying fish based broth, soba lovers visit Chobokuri both from within and beyond Sado. The interior of a quaint Japanese-style house is also a highlight of Chobokuri. The restaurant's name derives from a traditional performing art in the Osaki area, which is performed at Osaki Soba no Kai.

Fantao is a Chinese restaurant housed within the Sun Mall Town shopping centre. The chef/owner, who learned cooking skills in Tokyo, cooks wholeheartedly for his guests. Gashima Cinema
Gashima Cinema is located on historical Kyomachi Street, which connects Sado Gold and Silver Mine with the Sado Commissioner's Office. This former residence of the Sado Gold Mine captain, built about 80 years ago, has been converted into a café while maintaining the ambiance of the olden days. A monthly featured film is shown daily, and a monthly book corner provides movie-related books. An old carbon arc film projector, which was once used at an actual movie theatre, is on display. This spot is perfect for a break on a stroll through history, in the old mining town of Aikawa.

The noodles are made from 100% Japan-grown wheat flour, and served in a special broth, which is made from grilled mackerel and bonito flakes, simmered for one hour every morning.
