Ajigokoro Kagura
Ajigokoro Kagura offers three options for traditional Japanese multi-course dinners: Hana (flower) for 3,500 JPY, Irodori (color) for 4,000 JPY, and Miyabi (elegance) for 5,000 JPY. Akadomari Tourist Centre
Located in one corner of Minato Park, Akadomari Tourist Centre is a government-run facility used for training sessions, and exhibitions. It is closely located to Sado Kisen's Ferry Terminal, where the high-speed passenger boat "Aibisu" departs and arrives, and the on-site restaurant is popular. Among the menu items, including set menus, rice bowls and ramen Chinese noodles, the highlight is the original and seasonal red snow crab all-you-can-eat (available from October-April). Chargrill Restaurant Toki is nestled in a quiet environment, near Mano's Shopping Street on the side road towards the mountainside. The Enman restaurant specialises in chargrilled skewers, expressing their passion and determination towards handmade dishes. Grilled at a high temperature over charcoal, the skewers are flavourful and taste excellent even when cold, making them a popular takeaway meal. Chobokuri
In Hamochi, "Osaki Soba no Kai" takes place several times a year, where you can enjoy local specialty dishes and hand-kneaded soba (buckwheat noodles), as well as traditional performing arts, attracting many fans throughout Japan. Chobokuri was opened in 2007 by the organising group of Osaki Soba no Kai. Here you can have a simple, but delightful treat of soba noodles made from 100% stone-ground buckwheat all year round. Seeking soba noodles soaked in flying fish based broth, soba lovers visit Chobokuri both from within and beyond Sado. The interior of a quaint Japanese-style house is also a highlight of Chobokuri. The restaurant's name derives from a traditional performing art in the Osaki area, which is performed at Osaki Soba no Kai.

Benkei is a fish shop-run conveyor belt sushi restaurant with high popularity for its unbeatably fresh toppings. The taste of sushi topped with carefully selected seasonal fresh fish has earned a reputation. Family Restaurant Taigaa stands on the Minamisen bus route. The kitchen delivers a great variety of delights from burger steaks and a bowl of rice with breaded deep-fried pork cutlet to fried rice and Chinese ramen noodles. A popular man-pleasing menu item is "stamina-don", which is a bowl of rice with stir-fried garlic, Chinese chives and pork on top. Nagahamaso is a guest house located on the way to Ogi along the sea from Mano. It is in a great location with Mano Bay as its backdrop. Okesa is a restaurant specializing in Sanuki udon noodles hand-kneaded by the owner/chef, a native of Kagawa Prefecture, which is the birthplace of Sanuki udon noodles. Sanuki udon noodles feature a distinctively firm, chewy texture. The noodles are made from 100% Japan-grown wheat flour, and served in a special broth, which is made from grilled mackerel and bonito flakes, simmered for one hour every morning. Okesa offers set menus with udon noodles and rice dishes, and the menu changes according to the seasons. Okesa also provide three labels of Sado-produced Japanese sake. The menu has a range of tidbits, too, and the hand-kneaded pizza is gaining huge popularity.

At Ishihara Sushi (sushi shop), you will be welcomed by the kind master chef and his family. The master chef's parents run a fish shop, and seafood is selected by the fish connoisseur at the nearby Ryotsu Fish Market every day. This means that freshness is guaranteed. Sushi toppings of the day displayed on the blackboard are full of seasonal flavours. Rice used is the koshihikari type grown in Sado. Ishihara Sushi is tucked away within "Yurakugai", an alleyway with eateries and bars in Ryotsu. The restaurant might be hard to find, but it is such a hidden gem that tourists take the time and effort to find and visit.

Shiratsuyu offers plenty of seafood directly delivered from the source and caught by the master's acquaintance fisherman. The classic menus including meat and potato stew are cooked so that the ingredients absorb flavours, and go well with alcoholic drinks. Okijiru (Alaska pollack soup) and tarajiru (cod soup) prepared by the hostess, the daughter of a fisherman, offers an authentic taste that only she can make. Izakaya Nacchan
Nacchan has an established reputation for its fresh, seasonal seafood purchased at the market, and delicious nibbles. Bento box meals and catering services also enjoy popularity. The food menu consists of a plethora of dishes, including noodles, donburi (a bowl of rice with toppings), and set meals. Nacchan offers an all-chuhai-you-can-drink deal (chuhai are mixed drinks with shochu, Japanese distilled spirits) between 17:00-22:00 (valid for two hours). Prices are 1,000JPY for men and 500JPY for women. Head to the sister snack bar "Shante" after Nacchan. You can get 50% off karaoke there.
