This round-the-island course offers the highlights of the Sadoichi 210km course, including not only spectacular views of Z slope and Onogame Rock, but also the rural landscape of Sado where the Japanese Crested Ibis, a Special National Natural Treasure, lives, and the satoyama of Sado in the early part of the course. If you stay overnight on the island the day before and start the course early in the morning, you can finish the course well before the evening boat departs for Niigata.

    Ryotsu Port

    This is one of the gateways to Sado Island, connected to Niigata Port on the mainland side. There are also restaurants and stores, so be sure to prepare well before the start.

    Toki no Terrace

    This facility offers a panoramic view of the satoyama where crested ibises live, and there are binoculars in the museum on the second floor to help you spot them in the wild.

    Z Slope

    This hill, which looks like a "Z" when seen from below, is a famous feature of Sadoichi. The official name of this slope is "Hane-zaka." The view of the Sea of Japan from the top is spectacular.

    Onogame

    This is a spectacular scenic spot at the northern tip of Sado Island. The yellow flowers of the Kanzo (Amur daylily) plant, which bloom at the beginning of June, are a specialty of Sado Island in early summer.

    Futatsugame (Two Turtles)

    The islands look like two turtles sitting in the sea. The area is also a popular swimming spot, and the clarity of the sea is one of the best on Sado Island.
