The first and second halves of the course are on a plain with rice paddies and no hills, making for a pleasant ride. There are some gravel paths, so if you are using a bicycle with narrow tires, it is better to get off and walk or take a detour.

01 06Sawata Beach
This sandy beach is crowded with bathers in summer. The bridge commonly called "Ameyano Pier" is a popular photo spot. Bike rentals are available.

The central part of Sado Island is home to many temples and shrines, and Myosenji Temple is one of them. It has the only five-story pagoda in Niigata Prefecture.

04Nabekura Waterfall
This waterfall is said to be where Bungaku Shonin (a buddhist monk) practiced asceticism. There are well-maintained footpaths, but be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
