Application Guidelines for Sado City Subsidy Program for Supporting Convention Organizations

Subsidy Eligibility

Conventions that fall under 1 and 2 below and either 3 or 4 are eligible for subsidy. The term "convention" as used here refers to academic conferences, conventions/conferences, competitions/competitions, corporate meetings, industrial trade fairs, business trade fairs, and other similar events.

The main venue and accommodations must be in Sado City.
The duration of the event must be two or more consecutive days.
The convention must be a "national convention" with participation from five or more prefectures.
Block conventions" with participation from two or more prefectures.

National Convention: Convention with 30 or more participants from outside Sado City (5 or more prefectures) and the same or more overnight stays are expected in Sado City.
Block conventions: Conventions with 20 or more participants from outside Sado City (2 or more prefectures) and the same or more overnight stays are expected in Sado City.

Expenses eligible for subsidy

Please note that the following cases are not eligible for subsidy.

Conventions organized by the national or local governments.
Conventions that receive other subsidies from Sado City.
Conventions with political, religious or direct commercial purposes.
Sales meetings, professional sports, concerts, theatrical performances, and other similar events for which admission fees are collected from an unspecified number of participants.
Conventions to be held for the second or subsequent times in the same fiscal year by the same organizer.

Subsidy Amount

Convention Category	Subsidy amount	Upper Limit
National Convention	The amount obtained by multiplying the number of participants from outside Sado City by 2,000 yen	1/2 of the expenses eligible for subsidy or 300,000 yen, whichever is lower
Block Convention	The amount obtained by multiplying the number of participants from outside Sado by 1,500 yen	1/2 of the expenses eligible for subsidy or 150,000 yen, whichever is lower

The maximum amount is 200,000 yen per organization within the same fiscal year.

Please consult with the Sado Island Tourism Exchange Organization prior to holding the convention and send the following application documents.
