Sado City Support Program for Cultural and Sports Camps

Subsidy Eligibility

Groups that meet all of the following three conditions are eligible for subsidies.

  1. Groups consisting of students of high schools, universities, junior colleges, vocational schools, and other schools located outside of Sado City.(Groups that include foreigners studying at the school are also eligible.)
  2. Groups that are recognized as a cultural or athletic club.
  3. Groups that stay at least 2 nights per camp and the total number of nights (the number of guests multiplied by the number of nights) is 20 nights or more. (The number of nights is calculated by multiplying the number of guests by the number of nights) for a single camp. (Not only students, but also coaches, instructors, and other participants necessary for the camp are included in the number of participants.)

If the above conditions are met, the following cases are also eligible for subsidy.

  • The same group may be split into two or more groups and stay in two or more locations, provided that the purpose and content of the activities are the same.
  • Even if the same group is divided into several groups with separate itineraries, the purpose and content of the activities are the same, and there is an opportunity for the groups to work together in Sado City.

In the case of a joint camp by different groups, each group must apply separately.

Ineligibility for subsidy

Please note that the following cases are not eligible for subsidy

  • Staying overnight at a facility that does not require a fee (camping, bungalows, etc.).
  • Lodging for the sole purpose of participating in an official convention or event.

Ryokan, hotel, guest house, etc. 1,000 yen per person per night
Public facilities 500 yen per person per night

Up to 200,000 yen per organization within the same fiscal year.

How to apply and request a grant

After consulting with the Sado Island Tourism Exchange Organization by phone or other means prior to the camp, please send the following application documents by the earlier of "within 30 days from the end of the camp" or "the end of the fiscal year that includes the end of the camp". Please note that applications received after the deadline will not be accepted. (The PDF and Word documents below have the same contents. Please use either one for your convenience)
