SADO Futatsugame View Hotel

With a view over the Futatsugame and Onogame rocks which are listed on the Michelin Green Guide, Futatsugame Campground sits in Futatsugame Bathing Beach, which boasts its most crystal clear waters in Sado. Ryokan Futatsugameso is in a great location, incorporating Futatsugame, a clustor of massive offshore outcrops named for what they resemble, two turtles, into their garden landscape. This is an inn run by a parent and child, who are both fishermen, and fresh seafood including sea bream, flatfish, and turban shells caught with their fixed net and gill net, are served for dinner. The setting sun colouring the sea and fantastic fire lit on boats to lure fish at night add a unique experience to your travels.

Futatsugame resembles two turtles nestling closely and the scenery changes according to the tide. The water around Futatsugame is the clearest in Sado, and Futatsugame Bathing Beach has been selected as one of the Top 100 Sea-Bathing Spots in Japan. Futatsugame is also listed with two stars on the Michelin Green Guide, along with Onogame.

Futatsugame Yoshiya Bekkan is an inn located close to Futatsugame, a famous scenic spot also known for its beach. Snorkeling is a popular activity in the seas, where the water is the clearest in Sado. The home-style dishes, which are made using plenty of fresh seafood and seaweed landed at Washizaki Fishing Port, are one of the reasons why repeat guests always return. Onogame Lodge is conveniently close to the Onogame monolith. The menu options include classic dishes including set menus prepared from local ingredients, curry with rice, and noodles. Highlights include Kaisendon (bowl of rice with seafood toppings). Kaisendon is packed full of seafood, which the owner of the restaurant catches himself. Choose your seat first, and place your order at the counter. There is also outdoor seating on a deck to the front. Enjoy your lunch in this exceptional location, whilst marvelling at Onogame.

The vast expanse of the sea spreads out before your eyes while behind you stands a backdrop of mountains encasing ancient cedars. Here you can enjoy fishing, sea-bathing and trekking as much as you like. A French cuisine chef, the master offers both French food and makes superb use of locally-sourced ingredients to provide a traditional taste of Sado. The sights and sounds of nature are an absolute delight: breezes blowing through the garden, fireflies flying around, crashing waves, and chirping birds.

Ryoso Minato takes pride in its sea front location, and meals packed full of seafood caught with bag-shaped nets and caught at Takachi Fishing Port. You can enjoy a specialty dish "Ika Somen (literally "squid noodles": fine strips of fresh squid) served with home-made sauce at the restaurant on site. Nyuzaki Beach is located at a 5-minute walk from the inn, where you can enjoy camping and barbecue. The inn is also located close to the Ishige trekking route, and the entry point to the Sado natural cedar trees route. You can simultaneously enjoy the mountains and the sea to your satisfaction.
