Sado Mingeikan (folk crafts centre)
Sado Mingeikan is housed in a merchant house of the Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). The exhibition includes items that showcase craftsmen's skills and techniques, such as sea chests, Japanese-style chests, Japanese-style furniture, Sado's crossguards, and Mumyoiyaki pottery, along with precious objects including armour, gramophones, wall clocks, Sado-produced stones, etc. In addition, also showcased are early stages of Imari wares, pottery of Shigaraki, Bizen, Tanba, Echizen, Seto and Tokoname, all of which were delivered via kitamaebune merchant ships, and ceramics of China and Korea. Some of them are available for sale.

Seikaiso Guesthouse
Seikaiso (literally quiet sea inn) faces the Mano Bay renowned for its beauty at twilight. The shoaling Nagaishi beach is just a 1-minute walk from the inn. You will be treated with warm hospitality and the attentiveness of the owner and his wife, who are the seventh generation of owners. You will feast on wholeheartedly prepared dishes, and relax in guestrooms designed in a retro style. The Noh stage in the large banquet room and the Noh play masks kept carefully are legacies of Seizaemon Yamamoto, owner of the inn two generations back, who was adored as a Noh teacher. Seikaiso has a distinctive atmosphere, which expresses the culture and history of the town where ancient relics can be found in various locations.

Seisei means 'as many times' and 'frequently' in the Sado dialect. Seisei Kiteya sells safe and delicious produce fresh from the farm, as well as apple juice and cakes typical of 'Fruit Kingdom' Sado. Local confectionery is available, too. Feel free to drop in as many times as you like!
