Un Grand Pas is a restaurant located at the foot of the hill that leads to Sado High School. Enjoy French cuisine in a casual setting with a warm atmosphere embellished with picture books, home accessories and other cute interior. The dishes made from a scrupulous selection of Sado-sourced ingredients, varying from main courses such as roasted fish of the season to desserts, have constantly won praise. At dinnertime, good-value set meals with a main dish, salad, a drink, etc. along with multi-couse dishes are served.

Karuta is a Japanese restaurant conveniently located in the Sawata area. You can enjoy fresh Sado-source ingredients full of seasonal flavours. Karuta focuses their menu items on tempura, and offers carefully prepared dishes, including set meals, donburi (a bowl of rice with toppings) and noodles. Karuta's tempura, which is seafood and vegetables deep-fried to a crispy brown in carefully selected oil, has an established reputation. Multi-course dishes which include sashimi, tempura, salad and dessert are also popular.

Petit Doll has a great reputation for its sourdough bread and sweets produced from locally sourced ingredients. Their original sweets made with a focus on Sado-sourced rice powder, dairy produce and fruit are a perfect gift and souvenir to take back home. In particular, "Shima (Island) Cheesecake", an excellent sweet which won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Prize, and "Okesa Potato", which is made from sweet potatoes grown using reduced chemicals, are classic sweets in Sado. There is also a café corner on site.
