You can find locally-produced vegetables every day in one of the island's largest farm shops, Shinsen Kukan Yorankaya, located at the heart of Sado. Yorankaya boasts the widest range of processed products made from Sado-sourced produce, including vegetables, fruits, fish and seaweed, perfect for both daily shopping and souvenir hunting. Sado milk is delicious with a smooth finish. Cows raised at Clean Milk Production Farm, which has adopted the HACCP system to ensure safety, are healthy, and can produce delicious milk with fewer somatic cells, an indication that the cows are both less stressed and protected from infection. Dairy products made with milk collected from farmers every morning, including Sado Butter and a variety of natural cheeses, have earned a high reputation. Tours to see the packaging of milk and the production process of pudding and yoghurt are available. (The tour takes approx. 30 minutes.)

Farmhouse Inn Ueta is an accommodation for one group per day/night located near Sado City Hall. You can enjoy the slow pace of rural life in Sado by getting in touch with nature of the sea and mountains, and experiencing farming or juice making (seasonal). You can feast on Sado's home cooked meals including Sado's stew and chicken soup. The inn has a washing machine, a refrigerator and fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, and is suitable for long-term staying. The taste of the "unrefined, cloudy sake", which the master makes himself, is also exceptional.

SHIMAYA CAFÉ was opened by Shimaya, which is a confectionary shop famous for Sawane Dango (sweet dumplings). It offers a great selection of menu options including original sweets only available qt the cafe, Shimaya's special hot sandwiches, pasta dishes made from Niigata-produced rice powder, etc. Discover the gems of Shimaya, which boasts 200 years of history. A variety of food and drinks made from seasonal fruits are also served. There is also a shop attached selling Shimaya's confectionary.

Cuccina is located along Nakatsugawa Riva, close to the Kanaieki crossing. The menu offers a plethora of dishes including authentic pizza, pasta, paella, carpaccio, and so on. Every dish is prepared from plenty of local ingredients from Sado, guaranteed to draw out a "Buono!" from its customers. Offering lunch menus, reasonable set meals, party menus and a variety of original cuisine, Cuccina is loved by guests of all ages.

Ikkyu offers you an opportunity to fully enjoy the abundant blessings of Sado's nature. The connoisseur chef confidently selects and prepares mouthwatering fish dishes at reasonable prices, and that is what makes Ikkyu so popular. The Chef's Choice Course is prepared according to the specific preferences of customers. Requests can include a spread of Sado's ingredients, such as sashimi, tempura and grilled fish. Ikkyu also provides all-you-can-drink deals, so indulge yourself in great food and drink.

Hikino takes pride in Sado-sourced fresh seafood. They offer a wide range of dishes including sashimi, grilled fish, hand-shaped sushi, thick sushi rolls, and hand-pressed boxed sushi. Also offered are sushi sets of your choice with Chinese ramen noodles. Japanese-style barbecue cooked over an infrared grill is recommended. As the grill can remove excess fat while cooking, you can enjoy the enhanced flavour of meat. In addition, because the grill is smoke-free, the smell of smoke will not stick to your clothes, so Hikino has been a popular venue for women as well.
