Established in 1945, Yutakaya Ryokan has gained a reputation as an inn which serves rich harvest of the sea and the mountains full of rustic flavours, and beautifully presented, modern, creative cuisines. Tabino Hotel Sado was established as a base for those who actively enjoy travelling. Nagahamaso is a guest house located on the way to Ogi along the sea from Mano. It is in a great location with Mano Bay as its backdrop. Its changing menu reflects the day's catch and enjoys a good reputation. Ask about the economy-package for business use. The attached restaurant features a large fish tank that keeps abalones, turban shellfish, flatfish, and so on, alive! Lunch and dinner are served for both guests and non-guests.

An elegant, seven-story building comes into sight through a pine forest. Yahatakan is a renowned hotel that has welcomed numerous prominent figures and celebrities, such as government officials and members of the Imperial Household, including Emperor Showa. It is located in the central part of Sado and provides an ideal base, for both sightseeing and business. Yahatakan has something for everyone: spacious guest rooms, meals centering around fresh seafood, and flowing, soft-textured Yahata Onsen hot spring waters direct from the source, among others.

Ryoso Minato takes pride in its sea front location, and meals packed full of seafood caught with bag-shaped nets and caught at Takachi Fishing Port. You can enjoy a specialty dish "Ika Somen (literally "squid noodles": fine strips of fresh squid) served with home-made sauce at the restaurant on site. Nyuzaki Beach is located at a 5-minute walk from the inn, where you can enjoy camping and barbecue. The inn is also located close to the Ishige trekking route, and the entry point to the Sado natural cedar trees route. You can simultaneously enjoy the mountains and the sea to your satisfaction.

As the signboard bearing "Izuei Bekkan (annex)" suggests, the long-established eel restaurant "Izuei" in Ueno Ikenohata, Tokyo, is the owner of the hotel. The hotel is located in the bustling areas in Ryotsu Ebisu, and offers a perfect setting for sightseeing and business. The hotel houses a restaurant with a view on the sixth floor, where not only hotel guests but also non-hotel guests can dine. You can enjoy the panoramic view over Lake Kamo and Osado mountains, while feasting on dishes including Unaju, rice with grilled eel in a lacquer box.

Initially started as a restaurant in the Ansei Era of the Edo Period (1854-60), Yoshidaya is now a long-established Japanese-style inn with a hot spa drawing from the thermal waters of Sado Kamoko Onsen's hot springs. Seasonally scenic views over Lake Kamo and the Osado Mountains, as well as the view at dusk from an open-air bath fed with natural thermal waters continuously flowing from the source, are sights to behold. Multi-course dinners of Japanese cuisine feature Sado's seafood, and our uncompromising attitude toward nourishment, passed down from the time of its foundation, adds color to your table.

The East Building, designed by Hiroshi Naito, one of Japan's leading architects, stands in perfect harmony with the nature of Sado. Similar in its creation by a prominent architect in Japan, Koh Kitayama, the South Building has a modern design, with the building enveloped in glass. This renowned hotel, with two very different atmospheres, is also known for its excellent dining, which utilizes fresh Sado ingredients in deluxe Japanese and French cuisines. The superb location, facing a quiet shoal beach, is breathtaking.

Situated on the heights of Kasugazaki, facing the Sea of Japan and "Doyu no Warito" (Sado Gold Mine's famous V-shaped mountain-top split), Hotel Oosado is a new, Japanese-style hotel with well-balanced tasteful elegance and modern functionality. Despite its size, the exceptional efforts of the staff to meet every guest's needs have established an excellent reputation. Hotel Oosado features stunning views of the blue sea from the windows of its spacious restaurant, and of the setting sun from the outdoor bath. Hananoki Inn is housed in a 150-year old Japanese house transferred and reassembled on about 3,300㎡ of land. Hananoki stands calmly in the borrowed scenery of mountains, where Buddha statues carved into rock, and the huge Kofuku Jizo statue act as backdrops. Repeat customers return for the wholeheartedly prepared dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. The inn has, on the premises, a pottery factory of the inn's master, Tosei Watanabe. The inn also hosts concerts with unique programming.

Koicha (Sado dialect for "Come here!") is getting ready to be transformed into brand-new accommodations, so pre-renovation rooms are being offered at reasonable prices. This 3-story building offers 4 single bedrooms, 2 twin rooms, and one twin room with a terrace. The inn also offers a coffee area, Wi-Fi, and a collaborative workspace. Welcome drinks available. Sorry, there is no elevator.

The Masaragawa area is known for the Kaifu Ohashi bridge over the Ozare River strath. The unparalleled view over the sea of Sotokaifu is stunning. Inside Guesthouse Hayashiso, prints of large fish including yellowtail amberjack, red seabream, black porgy, etc. are displayed, and the inn is famous among fishers coming from the outside of Sado. The owner, who is a fisherman, will take you off-shore by a fishing boat (for a charge) , where he will grill your catch or serve it as sashimi.

Azuma Yubae-tei Kaiyo-tei was established as "Azuma", a Japanese cuisine restaurant, in Haneda, Aikawa, in 1925. Located at the western-most point in the northern Sado mountains, Azuma Yubae-tei Kaiyo-tei has been valued as the place "closest to the setting sun". Guest rooms and a large bathroom overlooking Nanaura Coast have a spectacular view of the setting sun. A large, 23,500㎡ lawn garden features a stone tablet carved with a haiku poem written by the famous poet, Seishi Yamaguchi, during his stay here, and an old burial ground. A stroll along the promenade leads to the seashore. Popular for its private outdoor bath and rooms with individual outdoor baths, Azuma Yubae-tei Kaiyo-tei is a long-established hotel with specialty dishes, standing on the heights of a quasi-national park.

With a view over the Futatsugame and Onogame rocks which are listed on the Michelin Green Guide, Futatsugame Campground sits in Futatsugame Bathing Beach, which boasts its most crystal clear waters in Sado. The surrounding dynamic natural environment in Sotokaifu is its charm. The camping site slopes gently to the sea, and the stairs leading down to the beach are an exciting challenge. The SADO Futatsugame View Hotel is located adjacent to the campground.

A five-minute car ride from Ogi Port, Ogi-no-Yu is located on a hill with easy access to the town center. From the window facing the Sea of Japan, you can see the sun rise over the sea, right in front of your eyes. This inn, with its own hot spring spa, provides an opportunity to see the two ports of Ogi at the same time, a view that is only available here. One port is Uchinoma (the inside inlet), which flourished as a sengokubune (wooden freight ship) port of call when gold was being shipped in the Edo Period (1603-1867), and the other is Ogi Port, also called Sotonoma (the outside inlet). The hot spring has a pH of 9.54 (without dilution), with a high alkaline content. The texture enchants many people with its reputed skin-beautifying effects. Other attractions on the premises are a restaurant that serves fresh local produce, and lodgings with the warm atmosphere of wood.

Sado Green Hotel Kiraku stands on the heights of Shiizaki, facing Lake Kamo. You can relax in a variety of hot spa baths varying from large bathing rooms with a panoramic view on the top floor (hotel guests only), Yurakunagaya (a private outdoor bath for hotel guests only), to outdoor baths "Toki no Maiyu" (one-day bathing available). Sado Green Hotel Kiraku serves seasonal fresh dishes prepared from fish caught from the Fishery Association every morning and oysters harvested in Lake Kamo.

This campground is set adjacent to Nyuzaki Sea-bathing Beach, which features a fine gravel beach and crystal clear waters. You cannot drive into the campsite, but there is a free parking lot. With the attractive variety of landforms, this spot is not limited to just swimming and camping, you can enjoy exploring the seaside and fishing at the rocky shore, too. This campground is spacious, but there is little shade to provide shelter from the sun, so be sure to protect yourself from sunburn.

Shiozu no Sato stands on open ground in the heights overlooking Mano Bay. It has a spacious front garden where you can enjoy camping or a barbecue, and is ideal for school trips, sports training camps, and other excursions. In addition, Shiozu no Sato offers opportunities for a variety of activities on the themes of food and marine leisure, including noroma puppet painting, and stonework, among others. A base for exploration in Sado or relaxation, Shiozu no Sato is accommodation offering hands-on experiences, suitable for a variety of purposes.

The sea breeze gently caresses your skin and leaves you peaceful at Sawata beach, where Guest Villa On the Beach is located. On the first floor is a French and Italian restaurant "Seisuke next door", where chefs cook Sado-grown ingredients with culinary magic. On the second floor lies a common space equipped with a lounge and a dining room with a kitchen. There is also a multi-purpose room available for loan, suitable for yoga lessons, etc. On the Beach will give you a unique stay in Sado, which is a calming and refreshing retreat to heal your mind and body. The bedding produced by "Minka (a retail of home accessories and bedding based in Niigata)" guarantees deep sleep.

Having opened in the spring of 2016 in the Kanai area, Yadoya Fukuro is still a new accommodation. It is ideally located in the heart of Sado, convenient for sightseeing and business. All rooms are equipped with a bath, a toilet, a television and a fridge. There is also a washing machine and a dryer in the lobby, so it is perfect for long-term stays, too. The vast expanse of the sea spreads out before your eyes while behind you stands a backdrop of mountains encasing ancient cedars. Here you can enjoy fishing, sea-bathing and trekking as much as you like. A French cuisine chef, the master offers both French food and makes superb use of locally-sourced ingredients to provide a traditional taste of Sado. The sights and sounds of nature are an absolute delight: breezes blowing through the garden, fireflies flying around, crashing waves, and chirping birds.

A view over the Sea of Japan can be enjoyed from each room. All rooms are spacious, set in the European style with a bath and a separate toilet. The "Island Meal," made with locally produced food is served at the restaurant. Large bathrooms with hot spring water, as well as our barbecue facilities, are popular among our guests. Our original Japanese sake, "Sado Sen'nen no Sugi (1,000-year-old cedar)," also adds colour to your stay in Sado.

Just a 10-minute drive away from the Sawata city centre, Auto Park Sawata is surrounded by lush greenery with views of Mt Kinpoku and Kuninaka Plain. Each pitch has a parking space for one car, and is equipped with a private washing area, electric hook-ups and a Western-style toilet. The Sawata Bathing Beach is only about 15 minutes away from the site. There is a convenience store on the way to Sawata town, making Auto Park Sawata a convenient place and perfect campsite to stay for long breaks.

Ryokan Iriumi is located by the seashore in Kubota and is surrounded by the sound of waves of Mano Bay. The majority of the spacious guestrooms have a sea view. Run by a master fisherman, the inn owns a fixed fishing net, and the seafood they serve is exceptionally fresh. The meals which maximizes the unique flavours of Sado has established reputation, and their specialty menu is okoze (stonefish) dishes. White flesh with simple, light flavour is served deep-fried and as sashimi. The ginger-coloured hot spa water will warm you up from inside and ease your fatigue.

Claiming the wealthiest farmer in Sado as an ancestor, Hotel Mancho was established in 1950. It stands at the seashore in Aikawa, facing the setting sun and the fires lit on boats to lure fish at night. Dishes are prepared from rustic seafood and the riches of the soil by chefs with delicate techniques. The in-house art gallery displays many exhibits, including Buddha statues that have been collected over generations, and the writings of three people with "shu" in their name (Katsu Kaishu, Tesshu Yamaoka and Deishu Takahashi), who are famous for their superb handwriting and lived at the end of the Edo Period (19th century). Hotel Mancho is situated close to Sado Kinzan Gold Mine and Kasugazaki, and offers opportunities for a variety of activities.

Located close to Sado Kisen's Ryotsu Ferry Terminal, the gateway to Sado, Maruka Ryokan is a convenient inn perfect for fishing, sea bathing and sightseeing. The beautiful view over Lake Kamo in front and Ryotsu Bay at the back makes will leave you enchanted. Dishes made from fresh seafood sourced from Ryotsu Market next door are popular among locals too. The Maehama Coast and the surrounding area is a picturesque spot with a gentle coastline. This campsite is right next to a beach situated between Akagameiwa and Kazashima Benten rocks. The pebbly beach is protected by a seawall, which makes the walk on the beach easier. As the campsite is within a park, toilets are available all year, but the changing room and shower area are closed except during the opening period of the bathing beach. Please take your own litter home.

Just a 10-minute drive from the Niibo town centre, Niibo Dam Campsite is a free camping area close to the Niibo Dam. 2,000 cherry blossom trees are planted on the outskirts, and you can look out onto the lush forest over the dam. With many tourist attractions such as Toki Forest Park nearby, the location in the heart of Sado is a perfect base for you to explore Sado. Please take your own litter home.

Toki Koryu Kaikan is a facility with lodging rooms established to promote the "Island Development for Both People and Toki" initiative. With forests behind, Toki Koryu Kaikan provides training programmes to learn about the preservation of farming landscapes near mountains. It can also cater to the demands of volunteer groups and school trips, and offers study sessions such as "A Lecture on Toki" and "Biotope-Making and Small Wildlife Creatures Observation." Rubber boots and other tools are available for rent for session participants and students.
