About the earthquake

On January 1st, 2024, the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture was hit by a series of strong earthquakes up to intensity 7. The earthquakes also affected many other parts of the Chubu region along the strip facing the Sea of Japan, including Sado Island.
Although some damage occurred such as landslides and liquefaction on roads, the earthquakes did not have a serious impact on everyday life in Sado. We welcome travelers as usual, however, if you have any questions feel free to inquire.
