Mushiroba Festival
Ondeko of Mushiroba featuring three patterns of dance
Mushiroba Festival is hosted by Hakusan Shrine, and banners set along the sea billow in the sea breeze. The main attraction includes three different patterns of Maehama-style Ondeko (demon drumming) performed by three groups. Children with red paint on their cheeks also join the performance and dance in turn with adult demons. After the ritual performances at the shrine in the morning, groups of Ondeko go from door to door playing the taiko drum. Ojishi (the big lion) also parades through the neighbourhood.
