Hananoki Inn
A private house from the Kaei era was relocated. It is a quiet inn quietly set against the backdrop of a mountain with a Buddha statue and a happy Jizo (guardian deity of children). What attracts repeat guests are the hearty meals prepared with local ingredients. On the premises is the studio of the owner of Hananoki, potter Tosei Watanabe. In 2008, Hananoki was awarded the "Worker of Local Production for Local Consumption" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan; in 2008, it was listed in the French edition of Michelin; in 2023, it was awarded the "Niigata Local Gastronomy" prize; and in 2011, it was awarded the "Niigata Local Gastronomy" prize.

Minshuku Takayama is situated behind Shukunegi Post Office in the Takayama area of Shukunegi. Here, you can enjoy delicacies from the sea, such as turban shellfish and abalones, etc. which the master, who is a fisherman himself, catches in a traditional manner on a tub boat. Minshuku Takayama takes pride in hand-kneaded soba (buckwheat) noodles, and they enjoy immense popularity. Guests sometimes enjoy talking and drinking together gathered around the sunken hearth in the lounge. A bottle of Japanese sake (Hokusetsu Kinboshi), bearing Takayama's original label on its bottle, is a perfect souvenir.

Fusubemura is a hands-on learning centre located in Kodomari, with an accommodation available on-site. One cottage contains a dining room, living room and bedrooms for five people, and this is perfect for families and groups of friends. While staying in the spacious centre, you can enjoy making your original pieces of work in workshops including classes for pottery, rag-weaving, bamboo craft, etc. The surrounding natural environment such as Sobama Bathing Beach is also fascinating.

Magoshiro is a cottage-style lodge located within a designated important preservation area for traditional buildings and architecture. The building has wooden walls and a historical atmosphere, with the living room built using a traditional Japanese house style. You can relax and unwind as you drink and chat with your friends or family around the Japanese style hearth. The inn has three Japanese-style rooms and a cellar converted into a special room, which offers a unique atmosphere and is available for group use. Magoshiro only provides packages without meals, but delivery service is available from neighbourhood restaurants. The building is equipped with a self-catering kitchen.

Isaburo's Residence, known as the house with a unique eave decoration, has opened its doors to the public as an accommodation. The old house of a Sengokubune captain, built in 1892, it is now available for use with its interior in the original format.
