Whether you're a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or a novice camper, these shops offer a range of equipment from tents, sleeping bags, to gas canisters for cooking, hiking gear, and more. For those looking to travel light or try something new, rental services provide an excellent option.
Sado Tourism Association Rental E-bikes
You can rent an e-bike right after getting off the ferry at Sado Tourism Association (locations in both Ryotsu and Ogi, as well as Aikawa). There are three types of bikes available. You can also ride from one tourism info center to another and drop off the bike there (for an extra fee).
NOTE: Starting from March 29, 2024 we will no longer be offering rentals from the Tourism Association Office in Ryotsu. To rent a bike or e-bike in Ryotsu, please head to Sado Outdoor Base (more info below).
Sado Outdoor Base
Just a 4 minute walk from the Ryotsu Port Terminal. Outdoor Base is your gateway to outdoor adventures on Sado Island. They have a variety of camping and hiking equipment, as well as a small cafe. You can rent bicycles, camping equipment, hiking gear, snowshoes, fishing gear and more. Outdoor Base also offers several tours and experiences on the island.
Dugout
Dugout stocks sports equipment (mainly baseball goods), along with outdoor wear and hiking equipment.
