In addition to buses, cabs, and rental cars, electric bikes called "Eco-Da-Chari" are available for sightseeing on Sado Island. There are three types of bicycles available: the "Sport Type" and "Sport Type Mini" hybrid bikes with electric power assistance, and the "City Type" for easy use.

Eco-Da-Chari
Sport-type

This is an electrically assisted bike that can be comfortably ridden over long distances and on undulating roads with excellent riding performance.

  • Rental Fees

    • 2,000 yen for 2 hours, 500 yen per hour thereafter
    • 4,500 yen for 24 hours
    • 2,000 yen for ride-and-drop (*Bikes can only be dropped off at Tourist Centers.)

  • Notice

    • Sport-type bikes are best for someone taller than 159cm.
    • Please pay the rental fee in cash at the rental counter.
    • Credit card payment is available at information centers in Aikawa. South Sado (Ogi) can only accept cash payment.
    • An additional fee of 500 yen per hour will be charged for use beyond the rental time.
    • About advance reservations. The Minami Sado Tourist Information Center accepts advance reservations by phone. In addition, from the Enjoy Plan, advance reservations can be made at the handling counter shown on the left.
    • Rentals are available only on business days and during business hours of the information desk. Rentals are not available on holidays or after business hours.
    • Skirts and heeled shoes are not allowed.

Sado Outdoor Base

For those who wish to rent bicycles around Ryotsu Port, rental bicycles are available at the Sado Outdoor Base. (4-minute walk from Ryotsu Port)

This is an easy-to-use electrically assisted bicycle. Available for rent at 5 locations on the island.

    • 500 yen for 2 hours, 200 yen per hour thereafter
    • 2,000 yen for 24 hours
    • 2,000 yen for ride-and-drop (*Bikes can only be dropped off at Tourist Centers.)

    • Bicycle sizes are for adults only.
    • Please pay the rental fee in cash at the rental counter.
    • Credit card payment is available at information centers in Ryotsu and Aikawa. South Sado (Ogi) can only accept cash payment.
    • An additional fee of 200 yen per hour will be charged for use beyond the rental time.
    • Advance reservations can be made by phone at the Minami Sado Tourist Information Center. Advance reservations cannot be made at the Sado Tourist Information Center and Aikawa Tourist Information Center. Same-day reservations can be made at the counter if there is space available.
    • Rentals are only available on business days and during business hours of the information desk. You cannot rent out bicycles on holidays or after business hours.
