Senkakuwan Ageshima Yuen is a tourist attraction of Ageshima Kyowan (narrow bay), the fifth most scenic spot at Senkakuwan Bay. From the observation deck, you can enjoy a dynamic, panoramic view. The surrounding area is a marine park, designated as one of Japan's 100 Scenic Foreshores. You can also enjoy a cruise around the bay, and the underwater world, aboard a glass-bottom boat (for a fee). On site, there are also an aquarium, which is home to fish found in the sea surrounding Sado, and a resource centre, which displays panels about a famous Japanese film, "Kimi no Na Wa" [What is Your Name?

Meotoiwa Drive-In is a roadside eatery right in front of the sight-seeing spot, Meotoiwa Rocks. The eatery offers dishes mainly on seafood such as rice bowls with seafood toppings and rice bowls with deep-fried breaded yellowtail. There is also a good selection of souvenirs unique to Sado on offer. Squid preparation is a popular experience with entertaining instructions by the "Dried Squid Master". After the experience, you can take some dried squid home, a popular item at the souvenir shop. If you wish to have the one you prepared by yourself, the prepared squid can be dried and shipped to you at a later date.

Connected with Sado Kisen's Ogi Port Terminal, Ogiya is a shopping centre offering a great selection of Sado specialties. The selection includes sea products, traditional crafts and famous confectionery. The cafe/restaurant offers a wide variety of menu options, such as kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot) with fresh seafood and set meals. Their specialty menu is "kamameshi with squid". The sumptuous dish consists of "Toki to Kurasu Sato", special rice recognised by Sado City, which is cooked in special broth, and colourful toppings of seafood including squid, shrimp and scallops, plus bamboo shoots and shiitake mushrooms.

Saito's Fruit Café serves juices and shaved ice prepared with strawberries, peaches, nectarines, apples, Okesa persimmons and grapes, all fresh from Saito Farm. You can enjoy strawberry picking in spring, too.

Gashima Cinema is located on historical Kyomachi Street, which connects Sado Gold and Silver Mine with the Sado Commissioner's Office. This former residence of the Sado Gold Mine captain, built about 80 years ago, has been converted into a café while maintaining the ambiance of the olden days. A monthly featured film is shown daily, and a monthly book corner provides movie-related books. An old carbon arc film projector, which was once used at an actual movie theatre, is on display. This spot is perfect for a break on a stroll through history, in the old mining town of Aikawa.

SHIMAFUMI is highly regarded for its homemade sourdough bread, cakes made from scrupulously selected ingredients and other food menus. Their recommendations include hot sandwiches with special bread and bagel sandwiches. The seaside location with wide open spaces complements the food. Enjoy tea alfresco on the refreshing and stylish terrace if the weather is fine.

YOSABEI is located in the Kuninaka Plain, a location facing mountains and rich nature, and where life with clean water streaming from Mt. Kinpoku can be enjoyed. YOSABEI is an old house converted into an inn by Karl Bengs, an Architecture Designer who has an extensive track record of old house revival projects in Japan. Take a break in a space where it feels as if time has stopped flowing, surrounded by organic vegetable farms and herb gardens; where you can enjoy a breakfast of Sado rice slowly cooked over a fire, and other Sado-produced ingredients.

SHIMAYA CAFÉ was opened by Shimaya, which is a confectionary shop famous for Sawane Dango (sweet dumplings). It offers a great selection of menu options including original sweets only available qt the cafe, Shimaya's special hot sandwiches, pasta dishes made from Niigata-produced rice powder, etc. Discover the gems of Shimaya, which boasts 200 years of history. A variety of food and drinks made from seasonal fruits are also served. There is also a shop attached selling Shimaya's confectionary.

Located by the sea, Akachochin serves ramen noodles, set meals and rice bowls, as well as DIY yakiniku (grilled meat), all of which enjoy popularity. CAFE Yotsuba opened on the Ebisu's shopping street where old-established stores stand. It is enjoying increasing popularity with absolutely delicious food. At lunchtime, the kitchen serves three options of lunch, one plate lunch, pasta and curry with rice. In the evening it transforms into a bistro serving à la carte dishes incuding appetizers, pasta, and main courses, along with wine, cocktails and whiskies. Sabo Yamashita is a hearty café in a renovated shed, with tables made from washtub-boats unique to the Ogi area, where they are used locally. Simply sweet zenzai (sweet red bean soup with mochi rice cake) and warabimochi (Japanese jelly-like confectionery) are perfect for a tea break during a stroll through Shukunegi.

The building has a distinctive white bay window facing the blue sea. Apple is a long-established snack bar in Aikawa. Surrounded by the chic, grey and black interior, you can enjoy drinks at reasonable prices. Surrounded by persimmon trees, the farmhouse café "Pouteau Indicateur" stands in the Hamochi Murayama area. You can use the ichirizuka to find the cafe, an old Japanese version of a milestone, the only one still in existence on the Aikawa and Ogi road. The menu items are all hand-made, using home-grown vegetables and fruits. The top reccommendations are pasta and curry with rice. Beef curry is made from the famous Sado Beef. All dishes are served with a fresh salad. Desserts which fully express the taste of the season are also popular. The name "Pouteau Indicateur" means signpost/milestone in French.

Opened over forty years ago in one corner of a shopping street, Snack Bar Noroma has gained popularity recently with its hand-made dishes by the master and hostess. The top menu item is undoubtedly the "Special Katsu Sando." It is a filling, signature sandwich made by topping slices of bread with sauce-soaked, thick pork cutlets. Moreover, dishes prepared with a little bit of extra care, including curry over rice, gyoza dumplings, croquettes and more, have achieved popularity among regulars.

Petit Doll has a great reputation for its sourdough bread and sweets produced from locally sourced ingredients. Their original sweets made with a focus on Sado-sourced rice powder, dairy produce and fruit are a perfect gift and souvenir to take back home. In particular, "Shima (Island) Cheesecake", an excellent sweet which won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Prize, and "Okesa Potato", which is made from sweet potatoes grown using reduced chemicals, are classic sweets in Sado.
