Located in the Kitazawa Floating Ore Dressing Plant, a historic site, the restaurant offers a spectacular view of the ore dressing plant as well as the 50-meter thickener. The restaurant offers Western-style cuisine, mainly featuring Sado Island Kurobuta pork, which is raised by Ryokan Urashima. We also offer drinks only, including original drinks supervised by Ryokan Urashima.

Connected with Sado Kisen's Ogi Port Terminal, Ogiya is a shopping centre offering a great selection of Sado specialties. The selection includes sea products, traditional crafts and famous confectionery. The cafe/restaurant offers a wide variety of menu options, such as kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot) with fresh seafood and set meals. Their specialty menu is "kamameshi with squid". The sumptuous dish consists of "Toki to Kurasu Sato", special rice recognised by Sado City, which is cooked in special broth, and colourful toppings of seafood including squid, shrimp and scallops, plus bamboo shoots and shiitake mushrooms.

Converted from an old Japanese-style house in the Aikawa area, this dining establishment offers a hotel-like atmosphere with a sense of Sado's long-standing traditions. Onogame Lodge is conveniently close to the Onogame monolith. The menu options include classic dishes including set menus prepared from local ingredients, curry with rice, and noodles. Highlights include Kaisendon (bowl of rice with seafood toppings). Kaisendon is packed full of seafood, which the owner of the restaurant catches himself. La Plage is a restaurant located in the East Wing of Ryokan Urashima. It serves authentic French cuisine prepared from meticulously selected local ingredients, such as fresh seafood and Sado's Berkshire black pork. Over "Koshino Matsubara" (a seashore with beautiful green pine trees), the vast expanse of Mano Bay spreads out in front of you. La Plage, as a leading restaurant in Sado, takes pride in its fascinating, beautifully presented dishes finished with rich, flavourful sauce and excellent, warm service.

Parlour Tsuruya is a restaurant which offers a myriad of menu items including set meals and curry. The ever-popular dish is "Meat Spaghetti" (a.k.a. "Nikusupa"). It is a Japanese-flavoured spaghetti dish made with pork and vegetables, but it also contains the rich, mouth-watering flavours of butter, soy sauce and cheese powder. "Nikusupa Rice Curry," which is a unique combination of Nikusupa and curry over rice, has developed a loyal following of big eaters.

The restaurant "de Vinco" is directly run by Henjinmokko, which is known for its famous sausages. It offers European-style dishes centered around Italian cuisine at reasonable prices. Don't miss out on the pizza baked at a high temperature in a pizza oven, which is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and pasta dishes served with scrupulously prepared sauce! The products of Henjinmokko are also served deliciously. The casual ambience with an open kitchen is also the reason for its popularity.

SHIMAYA CAFÉ was opened by Shimaya, which is a confectionary shop famous for Sawane Dango (sweet dumplings). It offers a great selection of menu options including original sweets only available qt the cafe, Shimaya's special hot sandwiches, pasta dishes made from Niigata-produced rice powder, etc. Discover the gems of Shimaya, which boasts 200 years of history. A variety of food and drinks made from seasonal fruits are also served. There is also a shop attached selling Shimaya's confectionary.

Cuccina is located along Nakatsugawa Riva, close to the Kanaieki crossing. The menu offers a plethora of dishes including authentic pizza, pasta, paella, carpaccio, and so on. Every dish is prepared from plenty of local ingredients from Sado, guaranteed to draw out a "Buono!" from its customers. Offering lunch menus, reasonable set meals, party menus and a variety of original cuisine, Cuccina is loved by guests of all ages.

Kato Restaurant is a long-established restaurant with a history of over sixty years. Situated at the heart of the Kanai area, Kato Restaurant offers a selection of menu options, from Chinese ramen noodles, curry with rice, donburi (a bowl of rice with toppings) to set meals and yoshoku (Japanese version of Western cuisine). The restaurant has been loved by locals with their established reputation . The best dishes include Tekiraisu, which is stir-fried pork finished with Worcestershire sauce and ketchup, and homemade Nukasanma (rice-bran marinated Pacific saury) with a flavourful pungency. They go very well with the Sado-grown Koshihikari rice.

SEISUKE Next Door is the sister restaurant of the hidden-gem "Restaurant Seisuke" in Ryotsu. Chef Ozaki produces true excellence whilst keeping a loving eye on Sado. He has set his new stage on the seashore. He now runs the restaurant located within a complex facility standing on Sawata Bathing Beach. Ozaki offers French and Italian cuisine by cooking the delicious blessings from the sea and the mountains of Sado with culinary magic at reasonable prices only available in Sado. Linger over a brilliant breakfast served with special bread and coffee whilst enjoying the sea view. SEISUKE Next Door also provides its own, creative menu items prepared with distinctive ingredients only available in Sado, such as natural wines, cocktails made from wild fruit, Sado-grown chemical- and pesticide-free vegetables, fresh seafood (including oysters and fish caught in the surrounding sea), Sado Beef, and so on.

It is known for its set meals such as hamburger steak and Japanese-style pork cutlet, as well as for its "Sado beef sirloin steak" that is always available. Home-roasted coffee, handmade cakes made from Sado fruits and wild plants, and Sado Bancha pudding, a local pudding, are also popular. The mixed parfait "Jigoku-Mori" is a large parfait with cake on top, which is also a popular item.

Family Restaurant Taigaa stands on the Minamisen bus route. The kitchen delivers a great variety of delights from burger steaks and a bowl of rice with breaded deep-fried pork cutlet to fried rice and Chinese ramen noodles. A popular man-pleasing menu item is "stamina-don", which is a bowl of rice with stir-fried garlic, Chinese chives and pork on top. Omuraisu (an omelette stuffed with fried rice) with its fluffy, soft eggs comes recommended for women and children. The restaurant is equipped with a stage and a drum set, so that you can enjoy live entertainment, too.

Un Grand Pas is a restaurant located at the foot of the hill that leads to Sado High School. Enjoy French cuisine in a casual setting with a warm atmosphere embellished with picture books, home accessories and other cute interior. The dishes made from a scrupulous selection of Sado-sourced ingredients, varying from main courses such as roasted fish of the season to desserts, have constantly won praise. At dinnertime, good-value set meals with a main dish, salad, a drink, etc. along with multi-couse dishes are served.

Taro is an exciting restaurant offering creative dishes. A hospitable master chef will welcome you and skillfully serves his delicious dishes. "Tofu (bean curd) Pizza" is especially popular for ladies. The menu has an impressive selection of mouth-watering dishes such as beer-battered deep-fried chicken, German potato salad in downtown style, and Taro's mapo tofu (hot and spicy bean curd). It confidently provides an ample selection of shochu (Japanese distilled spirits).

Ekibasha specialises in steak and burger steak. The American country-style interior enhances your dining experience. The steak they serve is seasoned with salt and pepper only so that the distinct flavour of meat is maximised. The burger steak is made from 100% beef. Their homemade sauce enhances the flavours of meat. It is located right in front of the Kanai bus stop on the Kanaieki crossing and easy to find. Delicious meat awaits you here!

CAFE Yotsuba opened on the Ebisu's shopping street where old-established stores stand. It is enjoying increasing popularity with absolutely delicious food. At lunchtime, the kitchen serves three options of lunch, one plate lunch, pasta and curry with rice. In the evening it transforms into a bistro serving à la carte dishes incuding appetizers, pasta, and main courses, along with wine, cocktails and whiskies. Carefully handcrafted desserts taste great, too.

Izakaya Matoi, located on a corner in a rustic setting, specialises in chicken dishes. The kitchen serves over twenty kinds of chicken dishes such as Chicken Nanban (marinated deep-fried chicken) with tartare sauce containing boiled eggs, nibbles, pasta, pizza and rice or noodle dishes. The wide range of menu items enchants its customers. Yakitori, finished with a special sauce passed down from the previous generation, consists of various items from rare parts to original, creative ingredients. "Sado's Special Big Takoyaki" which won the grand prize of "Sado Island's Gourmet Contest" is highly recommended.

Kinzanjaya is an eatery located in the third car park of the historic site "Sado Gold Mine". You can enjoy lunch made from fresh seafood. Kinzan Soba (buckwheat noodles) topped with chewy mekabu seaweed, shrimp tempura and iwanori seaweed and gold dust is highly recommended. In addition, "Kinzan Curry" served in a shape of Doyu no Wareto (split mountain top of the gold mine), and "Special Kaisendon", are popular menu items among others.

Sabo Yamashita is a hearty café in a renovated shed, with tables made from washtub-boats unique to the Ogi area, where they are used locally. Simply sweet zenzai (sweet red bean soup with mochi rice cake) and warabimochi (Japanese jelly-like confectionery) are perfect for a tea break during a stroll through Shukunegi.

The cafe attracts regular customers who seek a place to relax during lunchtime and teatime. The ample selection of food menu including spaghetti, Japanese curry, noodles, set meals, sandwiches, desserts, etc and drinks have established its great reputation. A sizzling home-made burger steak served on an iron plate is especially recommended. Home-grown rice is also popular for its delicious flavour.

A long-established snack bar, Orphée reopened with added izakaya elements in 2007. While maintaining the intimate atmosphere perfect for karaoke and chatting, Orphée now offers an ample selection of dishes, too. The kitchen provides a variety of menu items, from grilled skewers, deep-fried dishes and steak to noodles and fried rice. As Orphée has both counter seats and a section floored with tatami mats, it is a perfect place to dine whether you are in a large group or a solo diner.

Garage cafe RENNSPORT was opened to display cars by the car-mania owner. The cafe exhibits changing displays of cars varying from classic Porsche vehicles to Lotus cars, which indeed make a garage! The cafe menu has weekly spaghetti and sweet delights, which speak of the cook's joy. Organic fruit juice and chai tea also have a crowd-pleasing reputation.

Kisaragi Honten offers menu items filled with love for Sado's bounty. Try the Sado Set prepared with Sado-produced ingredients, or the turban shellfish curry that was once a favorite of island fishermen.

Surrounded by persimmon trees, the farmhouse café "Pouteau Indicateur" stands in the Hamochi Murayama area. You can use the ichirizuka to find the cafe, an old Japanese version of a milestone, the only one still in existence on the Aikawa and Ogi road. The menu items are all hand-made, using home-grown vegetables and fruits. The top reccommendations are pasta and curry with rice. Beef curry is made from the famous Sado Beef. All dishes are served with a fresh salad. Desserts which fully express the taste of the season are also popular. The name "Pouteau Indicateur" means signpost/milestone in French.

Opened over forty years ago in one corner of a shopping street, Snack Bar Noroma has gained popularity recently with its hand-made dishes by the master and hostess. The top menu item is undoubtedly the "Special Katsu Sando." It is a filling, signature sandwich made by topping slices of bread with sauce-soaked, thick pork cutlets. Moreover, dishes prepared with a little bit of extra care, including curry over rice, gyoza dumplings, croquettes and more, have achieved popularity among regulars.

Zen offers creative cuisines by making full use of seasonal ingredients. At lunchtime, omuraisu (omelette stuffed with fried rice) and pasta dishes are served. At dinnertime, meat and fish dishes are the main menu. Great food prepared by the master chef, qualified as a food coordinator, is popular for its various flavours such as the Asian. Kinchan Honten aims to vitalize the local community and create employment through agricultural diversification by making full use of local produce blessed with nature's bounty. Kinchan Honten utilizes local abandoned fields to grow rice for rice powder and other products, including noodles. (A great alternate of wheat flour, rice powder inhibits a rise in blood sugar levels after meals.) Kinchan Honten also produces and sells processed products made using locally-sourced fruit. At Kinchan Honten, you can enjoy local dishes prepared with the bounties of the sea and mountains. Kinchan Honten aspires to provide a place for communication and exchange.

Takoboushi is a Japanese-style pub located in a corner in the Shukunegi village. A friendly mama-san (female manager of the bar) awaits you with stylish dishes. Takoboushi serves menu options which emphasize the taste of the season, as well as crowd-pleasing snacks such as Deep-Fried Octopus and Tempura of Squid Dried Overnight. Enjoy dining and the entertaining conversations with mama-san. Curry with turban shellfish and baked turban-shellfish curry topped with cheese are signature menu items at Takoboushi, which attract fans from both inside and outside Sado.
