Established in 1945, Yutakaya Ryokan has gained a reputation as an inn which serves rich harvest of the sea and the mountains full of rustic flavours, and beautifully presented, modern, creative cuisines. Initially started as a restaurant in the Ansei Era of the Edo Period (1854-60), Yoshidaya is now a long-established Japanese-style inn with a hot spa drawing from the thermal waters of Sado Kamoko Onsen's hot springs. Seasonally scenic views over Lake Kamo and the Osado Mountains, as well as the view at dusk from an open-air bath fed with natural thermal waters continuously flowing from the source, are sights to behold. Multi-course dinners of Japanese cuisine feature Sado's seafood, and our uncompromising attitude toward nourishment, passed down from the time of its foundation, adds color to your table.

Ryokan Futatsugameso is in a great location, incorporating Futatsugame, a clustor of massive offshore outcrops named for what they resemble, two turtles, into their garden landscape. Futatsugame Bathing Beach is right in front of the hotel, where the water is the clearest in Sado. This is an inn run by a parent and child, who are both fishermen, and fresh seafood including sea bream, flatfish, and turban shells caught with their fixed net and gill net, are served for dinner. The setting sun colouring the sea and fantastic fire lit on boats to lure fish at night add a unique experience to your travels.

The Masaragawa area is known for the Kaifu Ohashi bridge over the Ozare River strath. The unparalleled view over the sea of Sotokaifu is stunning. Inside Guesthouse Hayashiso, prints of large fish including yellowtail amberjack, red seabream, black porgy, etc. are displayed, and the inn is famous among fishers coming from the outside of Sado. The owner, who is a fisherman, will take you off-shore by a fishing boat (for a charge) , where he will grill your catch or serve it as sashimi.

The Maehama Coast and the surrounding area is a picturesque spot with a gentle coastline. This campsite is right next to a beach situated between Akagameiwa and Kazashima Benten rocks. The pebbly beach is protected by a seawall, which makes the walk on the beach easier. As the campsite is within a park, toilets are available all year, but the changing room and shower area are closed except during the opening period of the bathing beach. Please take your own litter home.

Hotel New Katsura is superbly located on the lakeside, close to the sea. Standing on the heights of the Shiizaki Onsen hot spring village, with an abundance of hot spring water, Hotel New Katsura provides large bathrooms for men and women, as well as, two outdoor bathrooms and a private outdoor bath. Baths are also open for day-trip visitors. Hotel New Katsura treats you to meals only available in Sado, prepared using seafood sourced from the local Ryotsu market, Koshihikari rice harvested in the rice paddies in front of the hotel, and the vegetables grown with utmost care by the hotel staff members.

With a long history of over 90 years, Fukusukeya Ryokan is situated in the Negai village, known for Sai no Kawara, a spot which has a legend that it is a bank of a river which flows between heaven and hell, where deceased children go and play building small stone towers. Conveniently located from Futatsuagame and Onogame, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the coastline in the hidden areas of Sado. You can also feast on plenty of fresh seafood, caught using a gill net by the owner fisherman.

Sado Green Hotel Kiraku stands on the heights of Shiizaki, facing Lake Kamo. You can relax in a variety of hot spa baths varying from large bathing rooms with a panoramic view on the top floor (hotel guests only), Yurakunagaya (a private outdoor bath for hotel guests only), to outdoor baths "Toki no Maiyu" (one-day bathing available). Sado Green Hotel Kiraku serves seasonal fresh dishes prepared from fish caught from the Fishery Association every morning and oysters harvested in Lake Kamo.

Aokiya stands at the top of the hill overlooking Lake Kamo, and all guestrooms have a sea view. The sun setting behind Osado Mountains while turning the lake into a beautiful orange colour is exceptionally memorable. Dishes prepared mainly from seafood caught from the local sea surrounding Sado are delicious. Shiizaki Onsen's natural hot spa water, which was used for healing by the toki, the Japanese crested ibis, eases your fatigue. The Aokiya is a perfect place for a casual stroll and relaxation as it is close to Shiizaki Park and noh theatre stage.

Located close to Sado Kisen's Ryotsu Ferry Terminal, the gateway to Sado, Maruka Ryokan is a convenient inn perfect for fishing, sea bathing and sightseeing. In front of Minami Ryokan lies the spacious Sumiyoshi Coast's sandy beach. Donden Sanso, situated right in the middle of the traverse course on Osado Mountains, has been loved by hikers and tourists who visit Osado Mountains such as Mt Donden, one of the Top 100 Mountains with Flowers in Japan. Seafood, riches of the soil special to Sado, and delicious rice are popular among visitors. The view from the deck is stunning, and you can look out to the mountain ranges in Echigo on the mainland when the weather is clear. Sunrise and starry night skies are also fantastic.

Futatsugame Yoshiya Bekkan is an inn located close to Futatsugame, a famous scenic spot also known for its beach. Snorkeling is a popular activity in the seas, where the water is the clearest in Sado. The home-style dishes, which are made using plenty of fresh seafood and seaweed landed at Washizaki Fishing Port, are one of the reasons why repeat guests always return. All rooms have a sea view, allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful landscape while relaxing in their room.

As the signboard bearing "Izuei Bekkan (annex)" suggests, the long-established eel restaurant "Izuei" in Ueno Ikenohata, Tokyo, is the owner of the hotel. The inn serves fish caught with a fish trap and seafood caught with bag-shaped nets, caught by the Country House owner himself, home-grown Koshihikari rice, mountain vegetables, and delights the palate with simple local flavours. A walk along the seaside from the village will lead you to Sai no Kawara, where you will find Jizo ( stone statues of Bodhisattva) in various sizes and stone towers (sai no kawara is a spot considered to be a bank of a river which flows between heaven and hell, where deceased children go and play building small stone towers). The scenic spots, Futatsugame and Onogame, are also in proximity.

Nakajimaya Ryokan stands on the heights overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy the lovely landscape of the Masaragawa area. Relax in the pleasant sea breeze, go off shore for authentic sea fishing...... The inn's features and plans allow guests to design and choose how they would like to spend their time. The inn also provides dishes using home-made, local and safe ingredients. The view and atmosphere of the sunset at Nakajimaya Ryokan is exceptional.

Jugetsukan hotel stands at the source of Sumiyoshi Onsen and Shiizaki Onsen hot springs, and offers hot spa bath with a continuous flow of hot spa water from the source. The inn faces the Ryotsu Bay with a view of the car ferries sailing. In front of the inn lies Sumiyoshi Coast known as a sea fishing spot. Meals provided are seafood dishes prepared from scrupulously selected fresh and flavourful ingredients unique to Sado. The sweet taste of Koshihikari rice which is wholeheartedly home-grown and completely granular is exceptionally delicious.

Nestled between the scenic spots of Onogame and Futatsugame, Minshuku Sankeikan is situated in the Negai village, known for Sai no Kawara, a spot considered to be a bank area of a river which flows between heaven and hell, where deceased children go and play building small stone towers. All rooms have a sea view, and Futatsugame is right in front of your eyes. Dishes centering on fresh seafood and seaweed freshly caught by the Master add colour to your table. Ryoso Saka is a Japanese-style bed and breakfast run by a fisherman, standing in front of Suizu Fishing Port. You may enjoy well-established fish dishes and home-grown vegetables and rice, and when spring comes, a variety of mountain vegetables are also served. Fascinating is the traditional atmosphere of a fisherman's house, with a central pillar which has been supporting the house structure for over 100 years, paper doors and sea chests. There is a bathing beach equipped with facilities for camping, and the beach enjoys a great crowd every year.

Ryokan Yoshiya Honkan lets their guests experience the sheer freshness of their dishes prepared from fish caught by bag-shaped nets and landed at Washizaki Fishing Port or caught using small nets by their acquaintance fisherman. Vegetables and rice are all Sado-grown and have the characteristic rich taste of Sado. Ryokan Yoshiya Honkan is surrounded by the extraordinary splendor of nature.
