A private house from the Kaei era was relocated. It is a quiet inn quietly set against the backdrop of a mountain with a Buddha statue and a happy Jizo (guardian deity of children). What attracts repeat guests are the hearty meals prepared with local ingredients. On the premises is the studio of the owner of Hananoki, potter Tosei Watanabe. In 2008, Hananoki was awarded the "Worker of Local Production for Local Consumption" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan; in 2008, it was listed in the French edition of Michelin; in 2023, it was awarded the "Niigata Local Gastronomy" prize; and in 2011, it was awarded the "Niigata Local Gastronomy" prize.

A five-minute car ride from Ogi Port, Ogi-no-Yu is located on a hill with easy access to the town center. From the window facing the Sea of Japan, you can see the sun rise over the sea, right in front of your eyes. This inn, with its own hot spring spa, provides an opportunity to see the two ports of Ogi at the same time, a view that is only available here. One port is Uchinoma (the inside inlet), which flourished as a sengokubune (wooden freight ship) port of call when gold was being shipped in the Edo Period (1603-1867), and the other is Ogi Port, also called Sotonoma (the outside inlet). The hot spring has a pH of 9.54 (without dilution), with a high alkaline content. The texture enchants many people with its reputed skin-beautifying effects. Other attractions on the premises are a restaurant that serves fresh local produce, and lodgings with the warm atmosphere of wood.
